We appreciated our stay at Hotel Catedral in Funchal. Everything was brand-new during our 1-night stay. - the location was good and stunning, with a short walk to restaurants, cafes, shops, and other attractions. - the city centre was right across from the Cathedral. - Free parking was an excellent bonus. - Plenty of restaurants, like Konsai, were only a 5-minute walk away. - Our standard double room had a panoramic view.

The location is really super central. Since the weather was a bit rainy and I couldn't hike as much as I had planned, I thought it was great that I could stroll around the city. Everything could be easily reached on foot: many restaurants, the market, the cable car, etc. . The hotel is very average in terms of facilities and in general. It was also very pleasant that it was very quiet in the pedestrian zone, so no traffic noise.

Very clean bed, very good bathroom and an iron, a work desk and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels in the room. Plentiful breakfast and good food selection.

This place offers a beautifully decorated superior queen room with a terrace and an excellent location near the city center, making it a great choice for a weekend getaway.

The breakfast was plentiful and super exactly as I hoped, with bacon and bread z spreads, as for instance. Stayed there for easter and had a real good experience, so I would stay there again

The queen room they gave me had everything I needed - nice bathroom, balcony, and all the usual stuff. 🌟

- the location is perfect for activities in Funchal - free car parking (however, it was very difficult to find as they described the wrong place - they have 2 different ones!); and the system of narrow one-ways streets in Funchal can be a challenge for foreigners - breakfast was ok but as there are so many nice cafes&bars in Funchal it would not be necessary to have it in the hotel - supermarket in the same building (but very, very limited offer) - nice view from the roof terrace (shipspotting) - free WLAN - but only at the lobby and the rooms rather close to the lobby and only close to the door of the room, so not very comfortable

- the first night in the 5th floor was horrible as there is a ventilation system from the supermarket ending (not even the balcony was possible to use) - that's the result of booking a superior room, never had such a bad experience - it is a shame to use these rooms again and again for guests as we haven't been the first ones to complain - generally it is a lottery which room you get, try to be on the front side if you want to enjoy your holidays - balconies on the first floor are not worth the money (the ones on the 4th floor seem to be very nice, they are the ones shown when booking a superior room with balcony) - interior decoration is not very new

The place was fairly clean, I booked the standard double room with roof top views, everything was brand-new. There were extremely comfy beds and a safe box, an iron and a work desk inside the room. I liked the great interior and the free Wi-Fi.

I had a very good stay for 1 night. the standard queen room was functional and had a nice view. - the excellent location was only 4-6 minutes' walking distance from the Cathedral of Funchal. - the hotel is situated in a busy area close to Funchal's main sights, transport links, bars, restaurants, shops, as well as the mountains and Funchal itself.

The hotel is located right next to the cathedral of Funchal and therefore absolutely central. But neither the church bells nor the passers-by in front of the hotel made it loud. Within a few minutes through the boulevard Ariaga, one is at the free parking place that is located in a patio that is secured with a combination lock. We would definitely come back.

We booked this place before and recommend it to everyone, liked every detail about our very nice 3-night stay here, the service was helpful as we had expected.
